Honey is our sunflower fairy with a happy smiley face. She watches as real sunflower, grows at such a pace. But Fairies don’t get bigger, so Honey has to stay so small. She’s as tiny as a petal, only nine centimetres tall.

Sunflower (Helianthus)

The SUNFLOWER is a giant plant with a large smiley yellow face. There are several varieties like the Russian Giant that can grow to over 10 feet tall with flowers a foot wide. Autumn Beauty is about half the size. Sunflower seeds are planted in April, preferring reasonable garden soil and a sunny position. Plants grow very rapidly to their full size between July and September. Children love Sunflowers and like to compete to see who can grow the biggest.
